Every piece of successful content starts with clear and engaging writing.

I am, first and foremost, a writer. I earned my MFA in creative writing from Eastern Washington University in 2008. Prior to that, I was an editor and writer for TechTarget’s SearchSecurity.com. While at TechTarget, I honed my writing skills for the web while acquiring content marketing skills. I also developed an understanding—and appreciation—of B2B technology and the IT buyer.

Determined to be my own boss, I left TechTarget and launched my freelance writing and content marketing consulting business in the fall of 2008. My first freelance projects were for Shon Harris, updating her CISSP All-in-One Exam Guide and coursework. Shon gave me an invaluable education in information security and the world of book publishing.

Since then, I have helped hundreds of IT solution providers create quality content to engage and nurture leads. From book manuscripts and search-engine-optimized web copy to scripts and infographics, I’ve done it all. I’ve also expanded beyond information security to application development, enterprise applications, cloud computing, networking, data analytics, the Internet of Things, and more.

I love being a freelance writer and content marketing consultant. Technology continues to evolve, so there’s always something new to learn, and I get to work with amazing people. I love being called in to help out on a single deliverable as much as I love working side-by-side with a marketing team on a long-term project. Clients appreciate my tech writing skills, flexibility, and the unique perspective I bring from being in the content marketing business for nearly two decades.
